i must say. this album is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. i will refrain from calling it “epic” just because almost every person uses that term to describe them. a bit cliche but in reality, it does sum the album up quite nicely.

THIS ALBUM IS EPIC ! xD

there’s 2 CDs so it’s 2x the pleasure! and okay, i know i’m guilty of illegally downloading the copy but hey, i don’t have my financial money yet okay? and shipping makes a 13 dollar CD 28 dollars. if you wanted to split with me, i’d be fine with that. but other than that, please don’t start freaking out and pullin gout your pitchforks.

[e]motion of course has more softer style songs with a trancy/lighthearted feel and the opening and ending instrumental tracks are very soothing. maze was one of my favorites. i really wish i understood all of moonwalker because i heard it’s tribute to mj ? ]: and the song 트로트 was fun and do a side-to-side dance to. xD and what a different style too! 선물was really nice to my ears and is reminiscent of fallin’ and the song collabs with jisun and haru.

[e]nergy has, duh!, more energy. IT HAS ROCKSTEADY which has STEADILY been rising to my “top 25 songs played” in itunes. ITS BOMB. the flow and the rapping. i love it all. both the english and the korean version too. and is it just me or is part of the korean version..the beat, it’s similiar to CL’s rap in “The Leaders” on GD’s album? and i have no idea why but i imagine tablo to sound like the rap from the fresh prince of bel-air [90s BABY!] at some parts in the song. which just makes it better for course. they started promotions for wannabe which is a very catchy mainstream-like song that should get some new fans hooked on their music. madonna was pretty great too because the opening lyrics were hilarious. i mean, how the hell do virgins dance anyways? and so if you’re de-virginized you dance different? haha. and i liek techno/electronica music so <3 !

i think some of the more special parts of the CD include their musical guests including dumbfounded and MYK. they’re really lyrical geniuses and i know how much one of my friends really wants to get MYK’s CD is one ever comes out so if there’s ever one, i’m sure i’ll get it for her for her birthday or something. or just a thank you gift because she lent me her copy of Tablo’s Pieces of You to read [WHICH I TOTALLY RECOMMEND]

so anyways. you probably landed here searching a DL link but  i’ll be a hypocrite here and state this. i won’t give you the download links for the album because i think you can find it yourself. ever heard of google? but i do recommend you getting a copy if you can and listening to them. support them. spread their music !  [:

so in anatomy class today, ken comes in and the first thing he says is “are you goin’ to the epik high show?”

Epik High is coming to Seattle to preform on May 23rd at the Kingcat Theatre, located on 6th Avenue.

Like. Oh Em Gee. God this would be one event that I absolutely must ask my parents to go to. I mean, it’s one in a lifetime. And actually, I wanna go to this more than prom (which I have neglected to ask my parents about too). I mean, prom or Epik High in Seattle? EPIK HIGH FOR SURE.

Ken told me that apparently they’re doing autographed copies for the first 25 people (not sure?) and selling their merchandise (of course!) at the show so no shipping and handling payments. I kind of zoned out afterwards because all I could think about were ways to convince my parents. I mean, it’s a one in a million shot of letting me go but mygod. I wish wish wish (this is way more bomb than Wong Fu because Wong Fu is located within the US so if i ever went to California, I could potentially catch one of their shows but Epik High is sadly, an ocean away). 

Speaking of Wong Fu, Far East Movement (of whom WF has made a music video for) is also part of the concert and dude, they rock too! So it’s like a double packaged deal !

Tickets are 25 dollars which is TOTALLY affordable and apparently seating is first come first get in and shove your way to the front and stake a claim. =O

This video is great. The timing and everything is so exact and right on that I thought it was their official video. FM actually did a contest for MV submissions and I’m not sure if this one won or not, BUT IT DEFINITELY SHOULD HAVE. Man, geeks and hot girls? “FM” body spray? Hahaha. JUST LIKE AXE!

i don’t know. i found this to be utterly adorable. i mean, pouty Tablo ! RAWR I JUST WANNA EAT YOU UP* makes me pout too. pouty face friends ! (okay…i’m going just a bit nutso here.) 

anyways, Epik High’s new album, Map The Soul was released the 27th. i wasn’t even aware of it. apparently, they didn’t get to promote it as much as their previous albums. listening to previews, i’d have to say that there’s definitely more vocals in this album than their previous lovescream (which i absolutely loved because it was basically dedicated to love and heartbreak and whatnot). the only reason i found out that there was a new release is because there is also an MV out for their first single off the album, Map The Soul.

It’s alright. It’s kind of their trademark rapping and background light music. I didn’t find it standing out much from some other songs. I found the MV to be confusing but the pictures of the war and the Earth and nuclear plants were quite moving though. I actually went to their website for their promotion activities. Apparently, they’re the first in in the music business to actually do their own website and stuff which surprises me because american artists do that all the time? 

But yea, go listen to the album. It’s definitely Epik High and who doesn’t love Epik High. They’re seriously not overrated as much as you’d like to think they are. 

& isn’t it totally disappointing to hear that all three members of Epik High have gfs? I mean, it’s not like we fangirls ever had  a chance, but y’know. maybe. kinda. sorta. haha sikes. im happily taken even if he’s not tablo. [:

*Why is it when people like to describe stuff that is “cute”, they like to say things like “so cute I could eat you up” or further reference the person/thing as food items such as “come here sugarbuns” and “cupcake face” or something. Is this just an American thing? Is this why we’re fat? Because every freaking second, we’re thinking about food? Haha. And it does bring up the serious thought that, if you saw a baby that was way adorable, why would you want to eat it. Does it turn into a cake that you just want to stick your fork into? Because, babies aren’t cakes. And you really shouldn’t be thinking of eating human beings unless you’re German. SHAH!

this song is about to be the next Driving Me Crazy by Untouchable (ft. Hwa Young) and Gone by Dynamic Duo (ft. Joo-Hee). it’s that fabulous and addictive. btw, def. check out those songs if you haven’t. topped my iTunes most played along with Oh, Ah, Oh by Big Bang, Fallin’ by Epik High, and Sunset Glow by Big Bang (again). That’s my Top 5 Most Played on iTunes. Ohmygosh, aren’t we getting so personal?

according to wondersmurf, it’s a cover of the Insomnia original by Craig David (remember him? he sang that equally addiciting song about the days of the week! –  i met this girl monday, took her for a drink on tuesday, we were making love by wednesday. & on thursday and friday and saturday.. man, oh man, that song is SO OLD SCHOOL DUDE!) check out the original. it pretty much sounds the same only one is korean and the other is english. i downloaded both because they’re equally bomb. but me, being the total Asian, prefers the Korean version. Plus, Wheesung’s voice gets soooo pitchy and high, it’s cuuute!

[ALBUM] YMGA — MADE IN R.O.K

I downloaded this album thinking that I would become a fan. At first, it was alright. But then I realized the size of the files that I had downloaded (there’s a 9.1MB song. ONE SONG), it’s not the best quality for quantity (in this case, my hard drive space is quite precious since my computor is slowly dying…). Theres only three (out of five..) songs I liked/preferred which was the Real Talk [Ft. Tae Yang Of Big Bang],  Tell It To My Heart [Ft. Uhm Jung Hwa], and Let It Play [Ft. Ji Eun] and . I think this album is a bit too hardcore rapping for my tastes and whatnot. The songs listed above have a more electronic beat which is def. more my style. Their rapping is more cut throat and choppy then Epik High. Maybe that’s why also. I advise you listen and figure out for yourself. I’m on the fence about this album. I probably wouldn’t miss these songs if I deleted them for hard drive space though.

Wow, an American song! Okay, I like this song. It’s kinda country so for all you people who hate country. Skip it. But her voice is strong and she makes me want to cry. The song is overall a bit depressing. I actually have no idea how I got this song anyways. I randomly found it on my computer while searching for my Big Bang album.  But it’s one of those songs I’d listen to when I’m emotional or something.

Okay, I never really liked Big Bang’s english covers of their Korean songs. Hands down, it’s not as good. The only one that I found myself putting on my shower playlist is Come Be My Lady. I really really disliked the English version of Make Love because I absolutely adore that song by Tae Yang (it’s my ringtone!) . Do these English songs really break the Japanese barrier?

Okay so I must admit, I indulge myself in asian pop, hip-hop, rap music. But what I realized that the majority of the time, it’s mainly korean and japanese. Maybe it’s the same with the whole asian music fans out there. People just prefer the bouncy dancing music and the fluid rapping of the Koreans and Japanese. But I find myself confused about why I don’t listen to my own Vietnamese music? Is it because I am ashamed of my ethnics roots and their inability to produce quality music that doesn’t involve lip syncing over trance-y beats a la Britney Spears? But then again, vietnamese music is in it’s own category so there would be no reason why i shouldn’t dislike it just like I don’t like heavy metal or screamo music. They’re different stuff. But I have to admit that when I hear Vietnamese people rapping, it kidna sorta makes me cringe. I’m sorry. But until they make music that has beats like Epik High (or Big Bang) and fluidity that comes with it, I’ll stay away from Vietnamese music.

Then there’s the whole notion that people wonder why I listen to korean/chinese/japanese/non-vietnamese but asian music if I don’t understand a word they’re saying. I don’t know myself. I guess, with music, you don’t have to understand the words but feel it? Whoa, how cliche that sounds but it’s pretty true. A song that makes you feel happy, regardless of what language it’s in, is always good. And with me, I like songs that you can nod your head to (& since I’m plugged into a SCCC computer with iPod headphones listening to music in the background and slightly bobbing my head, the guy across from me keeps giving me weird looks ><”).

it’s awkward that i understand it. i can…get use to this though.. after a little cringing and winces of course. ^^ maybe it’ll become better in the next few years. his other music sucks though…LK (“Lil Knight” omg.) i mean.
