you know what really ticks me off? when i have to update software for the ipoddy and it erases all my “number of plays” for my music.  i don’t know why really… i just feel as if my music “number of plays” is kind of like a badge of honor for me. and plus, that list was a bomb song list. the “top 25 songs played” list, that is. and ALSO. i had to redownload all my effing apps? rawr. not happy. we were talking about how we live in a society where we value the packaging more than what we actually need and the teacher asked us for some material goods that represent this notion and someone was like “apple.” which made people laugh because YOU KNOW IT’S TRUE. sorry apple-kiddos but I’M A PC AND I’M PROUD.

just a little bloggy before i head off to start the week with some chem+physics. at least the chemistry hwk is easy. 85 dollars down the drain to use a stupid ONLINE homework system for the classes. it’s like you’re basically paying to turn in your homework. i totally think it’s ridiculous. at least they should make it free or something. webassign my ass. hatechu webassign! *hits computor*

i also downloaded a new favorite song hot mess by cobra starship. it’s quite addicting. i like dancing to it. and i believe it ties into the beginning of this blog. [:

i must say. this album is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. i will refrain from calling it “epic” just because almost every person uses that term to describe them. a bit cliche but in reality, it does sum the album up quite nicely.

there’s 2 CDs so it’s 2x the pleasure! and okay, i know i’m guilty of illegally downloading the copy but hey, i don’t have my financial money yet okay? and shipping makes a 13 dollar CD 28 dollars. if you wanted to split with me, i’d be fine with that. but other than that, please don’t start freaking out and pullin gout your pitchforks.

[e]motion of course has more softer style songs with a trancy/lighthearted feel and the opening and ending instrumental tracks are very soothing. maze was one of my favorites. i really wish i understood all of moonwalker because i heard it’s tribute to mj ? ]: and the song 트로트 was fun and do a side-to-side dance to. xD and what a different style too! 선물was really nice to my ears and is reminiscent of fallin’ and the song collabs with jisun and haru.

[e]nergy has, duh!, more energy. IT HAS ROCKSTEADY which has STEADILY been rising to my “top 25 songs played” in itunes. ITS BOMB. the flow and the rapping. i love it all. both the english and the korean version too. and is it just me or is part of the korean version..the beat, it’s similiar to CL’s rap in “The Leaders” on GD’s album? and i have no idea why but i imagine tablo to sound like the rap from the fresh prince of bel-air [90s BABY!] at some parts in the song. which just makes it better for course. they started promotions for wannabe which is a very catchy mainstream-like song that should get some new fans hooked on their music. madonna was pretty great too because the opening lyrics were hilarious. i mean, how the hell do virgins dance anyways? and so if you’re de-virginized you dance different? haha. and i liek techno/electronica music so <3 !

i think some of the more special parts of the CD include their musical guests including dumbfounded and MYK. they’re really lyrical geniuses and i know how much one of my friends really wants to get MYK’s CD is one ever comes out so if there’s ever one, i’m sure i’ll get it for her for her birthday or something. or just a thank you gift because she lent me her copy of Tablo’s Pieces of You to read [WHICH I TOTALLY RECOMMEND]

most mainstream music today has it’s own niche. you can autotune someone’s voice crazily and behind that, have a steady addictive beat and BAM it’ll be on the radio in no time. plus, you gotta plagarize the beat without really plagarizing it…y’know? because filter out the lyrics and most songs like the next one.

sadly, i am not immune. i really do like mainstream music because it’s easy to remember lyrics and dance to and sing and stuff. at least the music that’s not about sex, drugs, alcohol, and being gangster. i’m more of the pop-type, not so much the hip hop a la lilwayne.

i def. do not like lil wayne. his voice…just irritates me.

The Bachelorette: an emotional ride.

Okay okay okay. I admit. I watch the Bachelorette. But in my defense, I was “forced” to watch it in the beginning and I just ended up sucking me in.

Background info? My family eats dinner around 7:30 with our TV in the corner to catch Jeopardy as we have done for the last…what..15 years? 7:30pm is our aiming point. Around there. And then we watch whatever is on at 8pm, and depending on what it is, I shower at 8:30 or 9pm and yadda yadda yadda.

Of course, Bachelorette is on at 8pm right? (and lasting until 10pm sometimes!). I only watched it because I am a slow eating and tend to never finish before 8pm and we caught the last few episodes of the The Bachelor (DRAMA!) with that guy with the boy (man, is he old news. Melissa probably got the better end of the publicity) and how he chose one girl and then broke up with her for the runner up girl and whatnot. So naturally, dad and mom are now eager to watch their beloved Bachelor[ette]. And thus, I am “forced” to watch with them.

First up, Jillian is not some sexy scary-eyebrow lady. She’s cute. She’s funny. She’s just absolutely my type of girl if I had a type of girl.

Well skipping through the whole season, I’m more of the get-right-to-the-end kind of person and MAN last night’s episode was a SHOCKERRRRRRRRR. It made me yell AND throw my hamster at the TV. And go running out to my dad saying “DID YOU SEE THAT?”

No way did she choose West to be part of the Top 4. 17 hours after the show, I randomly told my dad “I CAN’T BELIEVE SHE CHOSE WES” to which he was like “what?…oh. My god you’re still thinking of that?” because seriously, Jake melts my little itty bitty teenage heart. He’s Texan, handsome as hell, and a commercial airline pilot! You know how uniforms turn me on [;  But he wasn't the guy that I was rooting for. I love Micheal! He's so funny and just so out there and he fell OH SO HARD. It was just the way he LOOKED at her. Made me think of my relationship..but that's a different story.

So. Final Four. Wes. Ed. Kiptyn. Reid.

I'm going for Reid because...I don't know. I like him the most? Definitely not Wes. Kiptyn's family is a bit too intense for me with the wine and the smartness and the fine lifestyle and whatnot. And what kind of name is is Kiptyn O__O" And I really don't know ANYTHING about Ed. So we'll see.

Yes, Ki Bum is back. But with what? A few smiley/teary face shots? C`’MON. We need some love here and his lovely voice (albeit there is no rapping parts in that song, but ohwell). And yes I drooled during Choi Siwon. That jacket he’s wearing is a sexy piece of fabric. And Kyu~!  The song is way better than Sorry Sorry (though I still like Monster) and it’s been on repeat for…2 days and is about to invade my Top 25 list. The chest thump thumping (yes, I know it’s call ‘popping’ but y’know. it’s cuter to say thump thumping [: ) ! ! ! WOOT WOOT. xD 

2NE1 -- FIRE. [2 versions: Street & Space]

Of course since I’m such a Big Bang, who wouldn’t be eager to see what the so-named “female counterpart of Big Bang” had to offer. And as addicting Lollipop was, it was way to bubblegum tastelike. WG and SNSD could do that genre better. I must admit, that although their new song is great, I am skeptical of what they have to offer. Their voices are synthesized so much and their dance moves haven’t quite been developed. Minji really amazed me for being 14 (I think?) though. She’s got spunk, that one. I think it’s different because it went the reggae way and had a different beat. Definitely something G-Dragon would do (considering he played a huge part in making the song). Lots of people said they liked Space vers. better but I liked Street. I don’t know. Just my preference. But yes, a good song that has also certainly racked up plays on iTunes.

Ah.hahahahah. I only found this after searching for how ot say “you are cute” in korean. Well I know now, kinda. But I don’t know how the whole spelling thing goes. But this is just SO FUNNY. It will go well with my plan to buy some chocolate milk and show off to Comm. guy that I can say “yummy milk” in Korean. Mwahahaha. Only too bad he thinks im so high-matinence bitch after I asked Yoon to toss away my milk for me. *sigh. I can never keep my mouth shut.

grey’s anatomy teasers for season finale 

just 2 teasers that (1) made me angry and (2) made me laugh. I’m sure you know which one is which.

MAN ALEX YELLING AT IZZY? GR. But I understand it’s all because he loves and her and whatnot. It’s so bittersweet the way Alex has grown up. But once in a while, we are able to glimpse the old Alex and see how his personality is affected by the way he was raised. But Izzie and Alex. I love them to death. I do. The scene of when Alex lifted Izzie in her prom dress still makes me cry. But Mark and Lexie (Mexie?) are just. so sweet. 

I’m so effing excited for the SEASON FINALE tomorrow. I mean, SEASON FINALE AHH  OMG WHAT AM I GOING TO DO ON THURSDAY NIGHTS NOW. GAWDDD.

I might as well start burning Season 4 discs and watching re-runs. ):

WONG FU PRODUCTIONS — WHEN FIVE FELL.

I love Wong Fu because they do videos that are relate-able, visually stimulating, and just artistic. The trailer proves everything about them. The music always plays a huge part of their videos. I’m excited to watch this new one considering I never saw their full-feature film. I’m anxious for the day that Wong Fu can break it into the mainstream because they really do rock. They went to Cannes after all!

Epik High & F*EM in Seattle !

 

so in anatomy class today, ken comes in and the first thing he says is “are you goin’ to the epik high show?”

Epik High is coming to Seattle to preform on May 23rd at the Kingcat Theatre, located on 6th Avenue.

Like. Oh Em Gee. God this would be one event that I absolutely must ask my parents to go to. I mean, it’s one in a lifetime. And actually, I wanna go to this more than prom (which I have neglected to ask my parents about too). I mean, prom or Epik High in Seattle? EPIK HIGH FOR SURE.

Ken told me that apparently they’re doing autographed copies for the first 25 people (not sure?) and selling their merchandise (of course!) at the show so no shipping and handling payments. I kind of zoned out afterwards because all I could think about were ways to convince my parents. I mean, it’s a one in a million shot of letting me go but mygod. I wish wish wish (this is way more bomb than Wong Fu because Wong Fu is located within the US so if i ever went to California, I could potentially catch one of their shows but Epik High is sadly, an ocean away). 

Speaking of Wong Fu, Far East Movement (of whom WF has made a music video for) is also part of the concert and dude, they rock too! So it’s like a double packaged deal !

Tickets are 25 dollars which is TOTALLY affordable and apparently seating is first come first get in and shove your way to the front and stake a claim. =O

……GAH I WANNA GO SO BAD. KEN’S BUYING TICKETS AND MONA IS GOING TOO! *FOAMS AT MOUTH*

so the first time i listened to this song, i was quite questionable about it. hot? not? it was one of those, ‘god what the hell was that’ kind of song that ends up being the song you play repeatedly in the shower. and yes, it is not on my shower playlist for my touch. 

and funny enough, the name of the ‘female counterpart of big bang” was 21 at first, and then it was changed to 2NE1 with the NE standing for New Evolution? (apparently, YG realized that the girls would never be forever 21 [hah! pun!]) and then ally was like “like ‘to anyone’? what does that mean?” and im like WHOA 2NE1 could be “to anyone“. ahahha laaaaaame.

what makes me sad about this “debut” song for big bang  2NE1 is that it DOES sound like a big bang ft. 2NE1 rather than vis-versa. you can hardly tell what the member’s voices sound like and what their range is. and their dance moves are weaaaaak. and what the hell is up with sandara’s hair? i mean, dr. suess much?

i don’t know. i found this to be utterly adorable. i mean, pouty Tablo ! RAWR I JUST WANNA EAT YOU UP* makes me pout too. pouty face friends ! (okay…i’m going just a bit nutso here.) 

anyways, Epik High’s new album, Map The Soul was released the 27th. i wasn’t even aware of it. apparently, they didn’t get to promote it as much as their previous albums. listening to previews, i’d have to say that there’s definitely more vocals in this album than their previous lovescream (which i absolutely loved because it was basically dedicated to love and heartbreak and whatnot). the only reason i found out that there was a new release is because there is also an MV out for their first single off the album, Map The Soul.

It’s alright. It’s kind of their trademark rapping and background light music. I didn’t find it standing out much from some other songs. I found the MV to be confusing but the pictures of the war and the Earth and nuclear plants were quite moving though. I actually went to their website for their promotion activities. Apparently, they’re the first in in the music business to actually do their own website and stuff which surprises me because american artists do that all the time? 

But yea, go listen to the album. It’s definitely Epik High and who doesn’t love Epik High. They’re seriously not overrated as much as you’d like to think they are. 

& isn’t it totally disappointing to hear that all three members of Epik High have gfs? I mean, it’s not like we fangirls ever had  a chance, but y’know. maybe. kinda. sorta. haha sikes. im happily taken even if he’s not tablo. [:

*Why is it when people like to describe stuff that is “cute”, they like to say things like “so cute I could eat you up” or further reference the person/thing as food items such as “come here sugarbuns” and “cupcake face” or something. Is this just an American thing? Is this why we’re fat? Because every freaking second, we’re thinking about food? Haha. And it does bring up the serious thought that, if you saw a baby that was way adorable, why would you want to eat it. Does it turn into a cake that you just want to stick your fork into? Because, babies aren’t cakes. And you really shouldn’t be thinking of eating human beings unless you’re German. SHAH!

because you know you wanna go deaf.

so today is asaturday and this saturday i woke up at 11 and bussed to the store with mom because apparently, we’re doing that switch of schedules where we go to the asian market for home groceries on friday evening and then sam’s and walmart on saturday evening for store groceries and everyone can stay home in and be lazy on sunday. anyways. it’s different. but i guess it’s okay. whatever.

so we’re on the bus and all of a sudden i’m hearing music. the kind that comes out of some mp3 jerk that’s playing it too loud in headphones and everyone within  a 2 feet radius can hear it loud and clear. and i KNOW i’m not going crazy because i look around and people are wondering where it’s coming from to. or at least i can tell on their faces that they’re KINDA annoyed (including me, who is actually reading on the bus which is unusual since i am usually also plugged into my iPod but i am very fascinated with my “current” bookread *see note to the right –>) anyways. so this person HAS to be listening to their music  on max volume or something because this is the 42 bus we’re talking about. the bus that goes through MLK and Rainier Ave and picks up loudass chinese grandmas and loudspeaker cellphone toting teenagers. though none of the latter was actually on the bus, there was an old korean grandpa sitting in the back, yelling into his cell phone (i don’t think he was really meaning to yell..note to self..write blog about this later.) anyways, so over this ruckus, i could hear the music.

and i’m craning my head looking over seats and wondering who the fuck is going deaf in front of me. and i’m thinking it’s the teenage black guy sitting in the front. stereotype. yes, hate me. but who else could it be. the granny lady? i’m sitting near the FRONT afterall. and plus, it makes sense that the song i was hearing at the time was Flo Rida’s Low. so i’m like “ugh” and goes back to reading but several minutes later… i know who it is. it’s the damn asian girl sitting to the front on my left. the asian girl. the fobby one with the highlights in her hand and manicured fingers and skinny jeans and painted toenails (i know cuz she was wearing flip flops. in a rainstorm.) ohmygod. 

and you know how i know? because the song changed from Low to Eat You Up by BoA. and i don’t know any non-asians that listen to that song. mygod.
